Does anyone remember Robert Preston? I do, and think he's worth
remembering! Here he is singing about "Loving You!" Enjoy!
Here's something from another movie that starred Robert Preston, although he's not heard in
this number. This is from Julie Andrews singing about "Hot Jazz!!" This is a big, 1MB
file, so beware!
The photos that you'll see below represent several of my own pictures, as well as
many "borrowed/quasi-purloined" photos found on-line. I'm thrilled to be living back in the area of San Francisco known as
"The Mission". This area has the best weather and the most interesting of neighborhoods.
When I lived in The Bronx, for 2.539009 years, I designed a very similar web page. It detailed some of the fictitious
comings and goings, personalities, etc., of neighbors and residents of my then abode. The Bronx folks were "in your face,"
better put, "in your ears," no apologies, just themselves. Oddly enough I knew about 7 families within 2 months of moving in!
Here again in San Francisco I'm happy to report that things have changed! I know almost all of the tenants and I think we've
a wonderful relationship!
The photos that you'll see throughout the rest of the site will be mostly local shots, and all of them, upon clicking,
will offer what I think are very interesting songs. That's the best part of doing a website! My idea of "thought-provoking," and yours
may not jibe! If you hate what you hear, you can either click on the next photo or just, pardon the expression, "click-off!" I'm hoping
that there'll be something pleasurable here for everyone I know! If you really find something objectionable, that's what my e-mail is
for!!
Don't forget! Kim Novak used to swim here!

Oldies but Goodies
Broadway and Hollywood
Here are some very well known songs and a few that are unique. I hope you'll agree with some of my choices. The "Oldies," and there are many sections, range from the 50s through the early 70s. The "Broadway" portion is from the late 30s through the 80s.
Here's one I missed! What could have been better than these two? This is from the original Broadway cast of "Chicago."
Though Gwen Verdon's gone, Chita's still performing. If you'd like to hear "The Hot Honey Rag," click on the photo of the two below.
Check out Chita in her latest role. She's still pretty spectacular, and at the age of 73, really is an inspiration.
Though this production closed in mid February, please visit the website for
that amazing show by clicking here! There are some unique videos to be seen and I really
think you'll be thrilled by her incredible talent!
Here's a "Winner" from the "old days." This is a combination of 2 songs, "Sour and Sweet, and Lemon in The Honey!" click here! This one's
amazing! Though it's 30 years old this year, it sounds better than today's stuff. This was a one album wonder by Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band. Anyway, this is best listened, and danced to, after your
third "Rum and Coke!" I hope you enjoy it. It's a 6 minute song, and, if it sounds a little "tinny," please accept my apologies! I'm really trying hard to keep
these songs within their most acceptable audio range, as regards file size. Without some "compression," this song would have been over 2MB! Please enjoy and DANCE!!!!
For those of you who've yet to be introduced, I'd like you to meet Sydney! If I thought moving back
to the east coast was a trip, it must have been even harder for her. After all, though not a "surfer-girl,"
she'd never experienced heat, humidity or extreme cold. Let's hear it for Syd!! She was the bravest 17 year old
in The Bronx. Late in 2003 I had to say good-bye to Syd. We spent a long weekend together and just cuddled. I
think of her all the time and will miss her forever.
And a "crisp, business-like good-afternoon to you too!!" Hope you'll be able to hear your
favorite "phone company" employee. There are eleven clips, back to back. Enjoy! This should work on most
PCs. If all goes to plan, and if you have Apple QuickTime installed, below you'll see a console that will
play the same files for The Mac!! If you're on a PC you'll probably see a broken icon representing
the "work in progress" aspect to this website. Either way, click on Lily for the PC version and the
Mac version will show up for those using Apple. Have fun!
Here's some more nostalgia. Below you'll see a photograph of my
graduating class from 1959, at P.S. 3 Richmond, AKA, "Pleasant Plains," on Staten Island. I sincerely hope I won't compromise any of my former
classmates with this photo. I'll always remember this day, even though our beautiful "old school" had been found "inadequate" and we were forced
to graduate from a hideous 1-Level edifice that looked like Frank Lloyd Wright might have designed it on Quaaludes. The original P.S. 3 was built in the late 1800's,
or the early 1900's. It was an amazing building! Our graduation from the aforementioned "early bland" building was a real bummer. Anyway, We all put
on our best faces for this graduation photo, in front of the new building.
My best wishes to you all. I've never forgotten even one name of my former classmates, but can't put them all "under the picture" at this point. Please
forgive the delay. Those pictured will be identified very soon! I'm proud to have been a part of this group!
This is a lovely duet by the artists pictured below. They're Sammy Davis, Jr. and
Paula Wayne. The song is "I Want to be With You," from the 1964 Broadway musical version of the Clifford Odets
play, "Golden Boy." Hearing this makes you realize what amazing performers they both were!
