To get us started, here's a fun song from Mae West about Havana. It's kinda "smutty," but so was Mae! Listen to "Havana for A Night!" Enjoy!

On previous pages there were music selections representing many genres. The songs on this page will deal with mostly Caribbean and Brazilian themes. I hope you'll like what you hear as much as I've enjoyed compiling these tunes for you. If you have Apple QuickTime installed, click on the icon above to enjoy a really unusual song! Three world-famous cities are showcased here. They are Rio de Janeiro, San Juan de Puerto Rico and Havana, Cuba. Songs will be changed again on St. Michaelmas Day, or possibly sooner.

Here we have two participants at a party on "Tar Beach," aka the rooftop of my new home. They seem to be having a lovers quarrel. Could it be hormonal? Who cares? His charming serenade makes all their problems seem so inconsequential....with the exception of her pesky 5 o'clock shadow!! Whoever guesses the identity of the "Marilyn Wannabe" above will receive a free weekend at the fabled "Brazos Melenudos" Hotel in the South Bronx!

As night falls on this afternoon of merriment, you'll no doubt notice the change in vegetation on "Tar Beach." The northern portion, as evidenced above, only receives brief morning sun and is very arrid. The southern exposure, apparently with a unique micro-climate, is very verdant and produces palm trees, as well as other "herbal" plant life. Indulge both your visual and auditory senses in the three photos below, and hopefully you'll derive a finer appreciation for San Francisco and "La Gente!" Buen provecho!!!

Here are two movies that relate only to Havana. The first was taken on a night when, on the rooftop of The Inglaterra Hotel, a Flamenco Troupe was dancing. The lighting cast ghostly shadows on the towers of the Gran Teatro Nacional , across the street. The full moon helped out too! The second movie was recorded in the beautiful lobby of the same theater. Hope you enjoy them! By the way, both of these files are in QuickTime.

I'm saddened to say that after the party this sordid little
scene took place up on the 5th floor. My neighbor just happened to be hiding in the armoire, and managed to get some of it on film. Sound quality is bad on this one; turn up the volume!! The woman's name is "Billie", her friend is Charlie, now better known around the complex as "The Runt!"
